Look Ma - New Shoes!

I have been struggling to find a new pair of running (or rather, wogging) shoes.  This is something that was important to me to get a good supportive shoe, because frankly foot pain is an excuse to not work out, and I don't need those around.

So everyone suggested (And by everyone I mean some amazing tweeps in the area and friends) to go to a speciality running store.  I had two choices - Second Sole, here in Akron or Vertical Runner in Hudson. I opted for Second Sole (Mainly because they are close, and I like to deal with local businesses if I can).

After about 6 pairs of shoes, two jogs down the plaza and tons of information that I had NO clue about, I ended up with these snazzy sneaks.

My brand new Brooks Adrenaline GTS 11. He went up in size (I'm usually an 8) and explained how these shoes are good for both treadmill wogging and outside (which I plan to eventually make it out there).  Which is great. The ones I had been using before (The Ziggs and the New Balance) just weren't the right support for the treadmill that I needed, which explains why the back was slicing up my ankle.  Hopefully now with right shoe and support, I can stop having my forefoot throb when I take my shoes off after a work out.  I need to work on that and see.

Some of the reviews are a bit concerning, especially those complaining about burning in the balls of their feet, which is what I experience now already. So hopefully that's not an issue.  Luckily they have a 14 day return policy, pretty much regardless of condition, so I know I'll be working out like crazy the next 2 weeks to really try and break the shoes in and make sure they're worth it. I hate throwing away $100 (like I'm sure we all do) so I want to make sure that's the right choice!

I have these EXACT shoes and love them... They are my second pair of Brooks running shoes. I hope you get plenty of mileage out of them as I will!
